Thersia Theron
Thersia studied at the University of the Free State, where she received a BA degree in 1977, followed by a Higher Teaching Diploma and then also a Diploma in teaching for Gr R (Reception year). She taught Gr 4 at Oranje Girls School in Bloemfontein in 1979 and 1980.
She worked for the South African Broadcasting Corporation from 1981 – 1983, where she was the floor manager for the Children's Programme Department, and also a part time radio presenter of a children's Bible programme.
She has started several Pre-Schools. One for a church in South Hills Johannesburg, where after she taught Gr R at a Pre-School in the same city. In 1991, she started another Pre-School for a church. Later she accepted the position at Sentraal Primary School in Bloemfontein, where she started yet another Pre-School. In 2006 she taught Gr 3 at Sydenham Primary School in Port Elizabeth and then taught Gr R there until 2020.
Amanda Baine
Amanda accepted Christ as a young child and fully surrendered to the Lord when she was 17. The Lord has truly given her a heart for children! Through teaching Sunday school, working as a nanny, teaching at Vacation Bible School and similar children's programs, working in the church nursery and teaching Christian school, her resume spans over 20 years of qualified experience. She was blessed to go to Colombia, South America for 2 weeks to work with school children. Amanda has 10 years of experience teaching K5-12, using a variety of Christian curriculums, such as Abeka, ACE, Bob Jones, ATI, etc. She has been blessed to personally lead 4 children to the Lord. She is excited to see what the Lord will accomplish through Bay Baptist Academy.
Lizette Ras
Lizette has experience in both administrative and legal work. She obtained her Law Degree from Nelson Mandela University and practiced at a Law Firm in Port Elizabeth. She later started her own local small business which is still operational. She has an interest in administrative work and has served in various such fields over the years. She currently serves as Administrator/Secretary at Bay Baptist Academy, as well as in ministry together with her husband who is the Assistant Pastor at Grace Baptist Church, PE.
